From Harikalar to the World: Activation King at PBX Europe 2026 - Harikalar Blog

A great experience is shaped as much by what people do with technology as by the technology itself. At Harikalar, we have been exploring that relationship through live events since 2006: creating moments that invite curiosity, encourage participation and stay with people after an event ends. Our venture Activation King turns that hands-on knowledge into software and hardware that event professionals can use in their own markets.

One of the latest stops on that journey was Amsterdam. On 27–28 September 2026, Activation King exhibited at Photo Booth Expo Europe (PBX Europe), held at SugarFactory in Halfweg, in the Amsterdam area of the Netherlands. We met industry professionals through live demonstrations of AI photo experiences, interactive drawing screens, games and drawing robots.

From the event floor to products that travel

At a launch or brand activation, a good idea earns its value in use. The interface needs to make sense, guests need to understand what to do, the result needs to feel worth sharing and the system needs to fit the event’s flow. That is why Harikalar brings strategy, creative ideas, design, software, hardware and live delivery together.

Activation King takes the same approach into product development. What we learn on our own projects becomes a set of tools other teams can use to build their experiences. PBX Europe offered a valuable opportunity to demonstrate those tools, hear how people would use them and discuss the practical details face to face.

A stand built for participation

Our Amsterdam stand brought photo booths, interactive screens and the robot table into one space. Visitors could move from a photo session to a drawing interface, try the installations and talk to our team about their own events along the way.

It is a familiar challenge for an experiential event agency: finding the point where someone stops watching and becomes part of the experience. A drawing appearing on a screen can give a passer-by a reason to pause. A photo result can become the beginning of a new conversation.

New possibilities, starting with a photo

At the photo booths, a portrait became the starting point for an AI-powered experience. Visitors tried the capture flow, explored the results on screen and discussed how AI Photo Booth Pro could work at their events. The conversation followed the guest journey: from capture to result, and from result to sharing.

At Harikalar, our AI Photo Booth experiences start with the same question: how can this technology create a connection between a brand and a person? At PBX Europe, we explored that question with booth operators, rental businesses and event professionals through different use cases.

Pick up the pen. Become part of the experience.

The interactive drawing area offered an even simpler starting point: a pen and a blank screen. As visitors used the touch interface, a larger display made the process visible to people nearby. Participation extended beyond the person holding the pen.

That is how technology can become a clear invitation at a live event. People understand what to do, want to try it and feel involved in the result. At the show, we discussed how this kind of interaction could fit different event environments.

From a digital idea to a keepsake on paper

The drawing robots added a physical dimension to the stand. Watching the robot arms work on paper made the connection between software, hardware and design visible. Visitors could approach the table, examine the setup and ask questions about their own installations.

As with Harikalar’s drawing robot experience, the interest was not limited to the finished drawing. The process itself invited curiosity, while the result on paper offered a keepsake that could take the experience beyond the event floor.

The value of a face-to-face conversation

One of the most valuable parts of PBX Europe was meeting existing customers and professionals from different markets in person. We listened to the conditions they work in, the responses they see from guests and what they need for their next events.

Those conversations also explain the connection between Harikalar and Activation King. Learning from live events informs our products; learning from the people using those products feeds back into development. We returned from Amsterdam with photographs, new questions and ideas to work on.

Harikalar’s experience, shared with the world

For Harikalar, Activation King’s participation at PBX Europe is part of a long-term approach: sharing the creative and technical knowledge we develop in Türkiye internationally. The events and experiences we create for brands sit alongside the products born from that work. Both are driven by the same curiosity: how can we bring people together around an idea?

Thank you to everyone who visited the stand, tried an experience or shared an idea; to our customers, Derek Savickis and the PBX team.
